Welcome to this WIKI. During this semester we will populate this space for our course and decide how we can best utilize this for our learning. We are meeting in Memorial Hall room 7255. This building was previously used by Harrisonburg School District as a high school.

Current Announcements

November 15

We will be meeting with Dr. Kolvoord in the College of Integrated Sciences and Technology - computer lab 343 or 336 from 5-7PM (note the change of time!)

• A very informative session - thanks to Dr. Kolvoord! We learned about Geospatial Technologies - more specifically Geographic Information System (GIS) and explored several instructional activities using several GIS tools. The page Geographic Information System provides some links from the class session - but feel free to add more information here as you explore this area of learning that possesses many exciting possibilities.

November 22 - THANKSGIVING BREAK - no class!!

November 29 - Electronic portfolios are presented to class. We will meet back in Memorial Hall 7255 - our regular room!

• If you wish to have me read a draft version of your paper, submit this to me during the week between November 29 and December 6. I can read this and get my comments back to you in time for your final revisions.

December 6 - We are not planning to meet this week - dedicate yourself to completing your research paper to turn in on December 13 and prepare your class presentation.

December 13 - FINAL class session - presentations of research project to class.

• The presentation should be 20 - 30 minutes and be in a format that could be used in other professional development settings (school, district, professional conference, etc.). A brief handout might help the rest of the participants follow the presentation and help recall the main points of your research project.

How about a new search engine inter"face". MsDewey puts a face on a search engine. I have only just looked at this briefly, but I was wondering what you thought about this human interface for a search engine.

Kevin Perkins I'm not sure if my wife would approve of me using that search engine. The lingo gets pretty suggestive. Kind of fun actually but guys need to be sure their spouse/girlfriend isn't around ;-) It's interesting that there isn't a MrDewey site out there for the ladies.

The Educational Podcast Network is a place trying to pull together podcasts related to teacher education in the 21st Century. Like I have time to listen to all this stuff! What is your take on this?
