I learned how to create a video using iMovie this summer by creating my own movie and receiving feedback on the process.
I need multiple inputs, but especially if I read and practice own my own followed with evaluation by someone experienced.
Interpersonal - the ability to organize people and to communicate clearly what needs to be done, to use empathy to help others and to solve problems, to discriminate and interpret among different kinds of interpersonal clues, and to influence and inspire others to work toward a common goal. Possible vocations that use the interpersonal intelligence include administrator, manager, politician, social worker, doctor, nurse, therapist, teacher, sociologist, psychologist, psychotherapist, consultant, charismatic leader, politician, and evangelist.
I am glad to see my profession is in the list. I guess that means I am doing what I am suppose to do. I do find it ineresting that plitician is in the list twice.
RESEARCH PLAN
I have an interactive whiteboard in my classroom that I purchased with NETS*T grant money, but I don't feel like I use it enough considering how much it cost. I also struggle with having enough time to really learn all of the potential uses of this tool, so I plan to look into the benefits of Interactive Whiteboards in the secondary classroom, as it seems to be more popular in the elementary schools. I hope to share my findings with my administration as they are interested in acquiring more of these devices for use in our school.
Some of my initial references include
Interactive whiteboards: boon or bandwagon? A crtical review of the literature by Heather J. Smith, Steve Higgins, Kate Wall and Jen Miller. This has a large reference section, which seems to be helpful.
Collaborative research methodology for investigagting teaching and learning: the use of interactive whiteboard technology by Victroria Armstrong, et al
I am also interested in looking at learning theory, cost of the equipment, and personal experiences of users to evaluate the usefulness on IWBs. I hope Andrea will be able to help me set up a survey for teachers in RCPS to respond to.
